Residencies can be tailor-made for your class!
Here are a few residencies ideas that I have done in TN classrooms:
- Science – Investigate science through the study of specific animals with fables, ed myths, treatment and factual information about the animals.
- Engineering & Math – Explore 3-dimensional shapes with a robot made of shapes that can be taken apart and put back together.
- Math & Literacy – Students will learn how to draw a self portrait (face) through measurement (the eyes are not on the forehead!) and construct a moving mouth puppet. An acrostic poem based on their name will be presented using this puppet.
- Literacy – Practice re-telling and summarizing with finger puppets for multiple literacy connections.
- Math, Science, Literacy – Mother Goose and friends explore different topics that encourage creativity and a love for learning.
